Prize packages announced for the inaugural ART Awards

ART is pleased to announce that the cash prize pot for the ART Awards 2016 has now exceeded £2,500!

The group awards are open to everyone – not just those connected with ART and Learning the Ropes.

These cash prizes for each of the category winners will be available to be spent in a flexible manner, to be agreed with the winners, so that real value is added to the winners and their activities.

The categories for the inaugural ART Awards are:

  • The Sarah Beacham Youth Group Award
  • The Sarah Beacham School Group Award
  • The ART Award for Innovation in the Effective Use of Technology in Teaching – sponsored John Taylor & Co.
  • The ART Award for Effective/Innovative use of Social or Other Media
  • The ART Award for Innovation in Recruitment or Retention – sponsored by AbelSim.

In addition to the cash prizes, each of the three individual Learning the Ropes winners (see categories below) will also receive a bespoke, practical ringing “treat” to assist them in their development, which will be specially tailored and arranged with the winner and their sponsor. It will be an opportunity to experience top class ringing.

We are pleased to announce that all those who have achieved Learning the Ropes Level 5 will be invited to a centrally-organised weekend event: The Learning the Ropes Masterclass. This will be run in the second half of 2016 by a team of hand-picked, top flight ringers and will be designed to provide opportunities that are not normally available locally. Travel and accommodation will be arranged/paid for participants based in the mainland UK

The following awards are for Learning the Ropes registered ringers only:

  • Learning the Ropes (LtR) Achievement Awards
    • LtR+ – Young Quarter Peal or Peal conductor
    • LtR+ – Outstanding progress
    • All LtR Level 5 achievers, with an overall winner.

This is the time to ensure that all your learners’ achievements are recorded on SmART Ringer so that they can benefit from this unique and exciting opportunity and that you apply for the young conductor, outstanding progress and overall Learning the Ropes Level 5 winner awards.

Details of how to apply and more details as to what the judges will be looking for are available on-line. Please do not be put off if you feel that you or your group / nomination doesn’t tick absolutely “all the boxes” set out there – where there is good practice, it will be recognised.
